What's the difference between a cadetship and a scholarship?
Cadetship
(Work full time, study part time)
As a cadet, you will typically be employed into a full time and permanent role. Ideally, you will be studying part time so that your work does not interfere with your studies and you can meet your work commitments. You will be paid a full time salary and receive extra financial support for your studies — up to A$10,000 per year.
Scholarship
(Study full time, work part time)
We will pay you an allowance while you complete your qualifications. Ideally you will be studying full time. You can earn a salary during semester breaks by working with us, either part time or full time. You are also guaranteed a permanent role within the Department of Transport and Main Roads when you finish your qualification. You will also receive extra financial support for your studies — up to A$20,000 a year.
