The role of Corporate Office is to provide a sound framework for the management and governance of the organisation, to achieve its strategic objectives and operational goals and to meet government obligations and community expectations.
The division's role is achieved through the activities of several branches which concentrate on people and organisational development, financial management, better governance frameworks, supporting business planning and organisational review, ensuring compliance with whole of government requirements and liaison with the minister and ensuring legal and legislative matters are handled professionally.
Finance branch aims for reliable, cost effective and innovative solutions across all activities to enhance business performance. Both the external and internal service delivery functions will be focussed on a range of key priorities.
The Transport Security Unit has responsibility for surface transport system security and aims to put arrangements in place to protect the community and the transport system by reducing the likelihood that surface transport will be a target for terrorism. The unit also provides state-wide leadership and coordination of the Transport Portfolio's disaster management responsibilities.

- Reviewing, developing and communicating the department's latest strategic plan and annual report
- Building industry capability through developing the right mix of skills and labour in the transport and logistics industry
- Maintaining delivery of corporate services whilst contributing to the shared services initiative and service standardisation activities
- Improved management of contracts and service level agreements across all corporate functions
- Establishing the internal governance committee to monitor and evaluate Queensland Transport's panel arrangement for advertising and communication services
- Evaluating the effectiveness of Queensland Transport's performance management framework prior to review by the Service Delivery and Performance Commission
- Security review of five major transport precincts
- Review of the Code of Conduct.
