Assistance available for upgrading school buses
The Queensland Government provides funding to eligible school bus operators to assist with the purchase of new buses or buses that are less than five years old. The objective of the scheme is to help accelerate the introduction of rollover-compliant buses into the Queensland school bus fleet.
Each year, the Department of Transport and Main Roads invites operators to apply for financial assistance under the School Bus Upgrade Scheme (SchoolBUS). The Queensland Government recently announced that an extra A$35 million would be made available over the next four years to speed up the Queensland Government's program to replace older buses in regional centres.
