Accessible public transport compliance information

The Commonwealth Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (the standards) help to make public transport more accessible. The department provides a publication on Important Information for Public Transport Operators and Providers of Infrastructure and Premises for Compliance with the Commonwealth Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002.

Code of conduct for school students travelling on buses

The code of conduct is a set of behavioural guidelines developed to assist school bus operators manage the issue of student behaviour.

Disability Service Plan

The Disability Service Plan developed by Queensland Transport describes the way the department is working towards providing appropriate services and facilities for people with a disability, their families and carers. This includes access to generic services as well as specialist disability services.

Regional Airport Development Scheme (RADS)

The Queensland Government's Regional Airport Development Scheme has been developed to assist local governments to upgrade aviation infrastructure in regional and remote areas of Queensland. Funds are available to a maximum of 50 per cent of the original capital cost of the works. A guideline is available for download.

Safe school travel (SafeST)

Each year, a number of students are injured as they travel to and from school. Queensland Transport is committed to reducing student injuries and fatalities through the Safe School Travel (SafeST) package. The latest version of the School environment safety guidelines provides more than 1700 Queensland schools with an easy-to-use tool needed to make school road environments safer for children.

School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS)

The Queensland Government understands that education is essential for Queensland's development. The School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS) helps students in low-population areas get to school. Guides and forms for school transport assistance are available.
