Hinterland Connect bus service (between Maleny and Nambour)

Queensland Transport is pleased to announce the Hinterland Connect bus service trial between Maleny and Nambour will continue for a further 12 months from 1 July 2008.

The service is jointly funded by Queensland Transport, in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

The service provides public transport to local residents, improves access to the area and gives tourists from the coast and Brisbane a new way to visit the beautiful scenic towns of the hinterland. It also provides commuters with a direct connection with bus and rail services at Nambour. On weekends, it offers hinterland residents a public transport link to Landsborough which has not existed before.

To make travel easier and more convenient, Hinterland Connect offers a hail ā€˜n’ ride service. Passengers can signal the driver between regular scheduled stops, and board or depart from the bus as long as it is safe for the driver to stop.

The local community is encouraged to make use of the trial service to ensure target patronage levels are achieved.

An updated timetable and fare structure (effective from 1 August 2008) is available below. The timetable has been developed with community input to improve service connectivity, including the loop service at Lowe Street in Nambour.
