At Queensland Transport, we recognise how important our industry transport customers are to Queensland and the state economy. Accreditations

This area contains information on obtaining accreditations, including: approved inspection stations, driver and rider trainer accreditations, national heavy vehicle accreditation and traffic controller accreditation. You will also find information on operator accreditations in this section.

Aviation

Our air transport section provides information on air strategy, policy, and development programs as well other airport details and route maps.

Freight and heavy vehicles

We are committed to improving freight logistics in Queensland, and aim to identify and influence opportunities to better optimise the combination of transport modes for set freight tasks. Our heavy vehicles pages provide information on pilot vehicles, dangerous goods, performance guidelines, fatigue management and the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme.

Multi-modal coal transport

Coal is Queensland's major export industry, and providing additional rail and port capacity is vital to its growth and the growth of the Queensland economy.

Ports

Queensland Transport monitors Queensland port authorities, advises the Minister regarding port-related policies, and develops policy advice on port network issues.

Port pilot services are delivered by Maritime Safety Queensland, which is a government agency attached to Queensland Transport. Maritime Safety Queensland also plays an important role in protecting Queensland's waterways and the people who use them—providing safer, cleaner seas.

Rail

Queensland Transport develops rail policy advice, and contracts for the provision of rail services and infrastructure that the government wishes to purchase. The department is also the lead lessor for rail corridor land in Queensland.

Repairers

Queensland Transport provides information on repairers and assistance in repairs such as heavy and light vehicle modifications, written-off vehicles and safety certificates.

Taxi and limousine

Our taxi and limousine area provides information on the different types of services, licences, service maps, subsidy scheme and security camera.
