16 and a half year old learners
To make sure no one is disadvantaged by the changes to the Queensland licensing system, allowances have been made for anyone who turned 16½ years and who gained their first learner licence in the second half of 2007.
These allowances include:- reduced learner logbook hours
- reduced amount of time you are required to hold a learner licence.
If you turned 16½ between 1 June 2007 and 31 December 2007 and had your first learner licence issued between 1 July 2007 and 31 December 2007, to obtain a provisional licence you need to:
- hold your learner licence for at least six months
- gain 60 hours supervised on-road driving experience (including five hours night driving)
- be at least 17 years of age
- pass a practical driving test.
