High-powered and performance vehicle restriction

High-powered and performance vehicle restrictions apply for the duration of P1 and P2 licence periods for under 25 year olds.

These restrictions also apply to probationary licence holders who return from a disqualification to a P1 or P2 probationary licence, where at the time of the offence they were under 25 years of age. These limits apply for the duration of the probationary period regardless of age.

High-powered and performance vehicles include those with:

You are eligible to apply for an exemption to drive a high-powered or performance vehicle if you meet the following requirements:

Penalties

There are penalties for failing to comply with these restrictions. Drivers of high-powered and performance vehicles that hold an exemption must produce this certificate when asked to by a police officer. Failure to do so will lead to a fine and demerit points.
