Industry Capability Initiative
Queensland Transport's Industry Capability initiative partners with the transport and logistics (T and L) industry to develop and maintain sustainable, workable solutions across Queensland. The department works with industry to address the current and projected skills and labour shortages across all modes of the transport and logistics - road, rail, sea and air.
Integrated Development Assessment System
Since September 2005, Queensland Transport has been a concurrence agency under the Integrated Planning Act 1997. This role relates to development proposals that may have a significant adverse impact on land use and transport coordination, or on the safety and operational integrity of railways and future railways. As a concurrence agency, Queensland Transport is able to assess, impose conditions on or refuse particular development applications using the Integrated Development Assessment System.
Integrated Transport Planning Framework
The Integrated Transport Planning Framework is a guide for transport planning in Queensland. It sets out a collaborative, consistent and sustainable approach to transport planning.
An integrated transport plan is a plan to develop and manage the transport system of a region in an integrated manner which supports the agreed plans to accommodate the region's forecast population growth, employment, economic and social activities.

Above all, it reinforces the importance of appropriate infrastructure development for the success of the state.
Regional Airport Development Scheme (RADS)

Released in April 2001, Transport 2007 is an action plan for meeting the transport needs of south-east Queensland for the next seven years. It is a stepping stone to ensure the region's 25-year plan (the South East Queensland Integrated Regional Transport Plan) is on track, and covers all modes of transport, infrastructure, services and policies. Transport 2007 is linked to expected transport funding and provides a realistic picture of transport investment in the region.
