
Integrated transport plans
An integrated transport plan is a plan to develop and manage the transport system which supports the region's forecast population growth, employment, economic and social activities. Following is a list of all the integrated transport plans which have been developed or are under development by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Integrated Transport Planning Framework
The Integrated Transport Planning Framework is a guide for transport planning in Queensland. It sets out a collaborative, consistent and sustainable approach to transport planning. It is a tool for transport and land use decision makers and planners in state and local government and industry, offering 'hands-on' advice for integrated transport planning across urban, rural and remote locations.
Border Integrated Transport Plan
The Border region straddles the New South Wales and Queensland borders between the Granite Belt and west of Goondiwindi. The Border Integrated Transport Plan is a joint initiative between the New South Wales and Queensland state and local governments. It is developing a framework to support the transport system to the year 2020.
Capricornia Integrated Regional Transport Plan
The Capricornia Integrated Regional Transport Plan was developed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads in partnership with Fitzroy, Livingstone and Mount Morgan Shire Council and Rockhampton City Council. The plan is a plan to help meet emerging transport needs for the Capricornia region, in response to growth in population, employment and industry within the region.
Connecting SEQ 2031
The Department of Transport and Main Roads is preparing a new regional transport plan titled Connecting SEQ 2031: An Integrated Regional Transport Plan for South East Queensland. Connecting SEQ 2031 will be a 22-year regional transport plan that serves the long-term needs of the people living, working, recreating and conducting business in south east Queensland.
Cycle South East
Cycle South East, released in 1999, is a key initiative of the South East Queensland Integrated Regional Transport Plan. It is a 25-year plan, which maps out an integrated transport system to cope with the growing demands of our region, and includes strategies to manage the high growth in car travel by promoting alternative modes of transport such as cycling.
Eastern Downs Integrated Transport Plan
The Eastern Downs Integrated Transport Plan is a plan to help meet emerging transport needs for the Eastern Downs region. The plan was developed through a combination of technical research and consultation with councils, business and industry within the Eastern Downs region.
Gulf Savannah Integrated Regional Transport Plan
The Gulf Savannah Integrated Regional Transport Plan project was established by the Department of Transport and Main Roads to identify and address the access and mobility needs of the community and industry in the Gulf Savannah area. The plan was released in November 2000.
Gladstone Integrated Regional Transport Plan
The Gladstone Integrated Regional Transport Plan was developed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Gladstone City Council, Calliope Shire Council, Queensland Rail, Gladstone Port Authority and the Gladstone-Calliope Aerodrome Board. It was developed in partnership between state and local government to deliver the region's transport system. The plan sets a comprehensive framework for the future development of the region's transport network up to 2030.
Integrated Regional Cycle Network Plan
The Integrated Regional Cycle Network Plan has been updated and expanded.
The South East Queensland Principal Cycle Network Plan will guide the development of the cycle network across the region by mapping existing and preferred principal cycle network routes.
Mackay Area Integrated Transport Plan
The Mackay Area Integrated Transport Plan was developed in partnership between the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Mackay Port Authority and Mackay City Council.
South East Queensland Integrated Regional Transport Plan
The South East Queensland Integrated Regional Transport Plan is a 25-year plan to develop and manage the transport system in a way that supports the agreed plans for accommodating the region's expected major population and employment growth.
Torres Strait Transport Infrastructure Plan
The Torres Strait Transport Infrastructure Plan was developed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads in close consultation with Torres Shire Council and the Torres Strait Regional Authority. It recommends strategies for ensuring safe, efficient and sustainable access to freight and passenger transport services throughout the Torres Strait Islands and includes an implementation plan.
Townsville Thuringowa Integrated Regional Transport Plan
The Townsville Thuringowa Integrated Regional Transport Plan is the result of collaboration between the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Townsville City Council and Thuringowa City Council. The plan is a signature project of the broader regional planning exercise which produced the Townsville-Thuringowa Strategy Plan. The plan was finalised in late 2001.
Transport 2007
Released in April 2001, Transport 2007 is an action plan for meeting the transport needs of south east Queensland for the next seven years.
Wide Bay Burnett Integrated Transport Plan
The Wide Bay Burnett Integrated Transport Plan is an extension of the previous Wide Bay integrated transport plan released in December 2002. The plan will recommend strategies to improve the way that people and freight move around and through the region for the next 20 years and beyond.
