Review of environmental factors

Phase 1 of this study involved a Review of Environmental Factors to assess a number of public transport corridor options between Ipswich and Springfield via Ripley.

Public consultation was undertaken between October and December 2006 and incorporated into the review.

The reviews findings have assisted the Queensland Government in selecting Option 1A—Yamanto and Option 2A—Redbank Plains South, as the preferred public transport corridor from Ipswich to Springfield.

The review examined environmental issues, technical aspects and community views in relation to four possible corridor options. This assessment assisted the Queensland Government in determining the most efficient and effective public transport corridor for the western region of south east Queensland.

A public transport mode is yet to be determined and will be further investigated in the next phase of the study.
