Back-to-School road safety
Be cool — be a Road Safe Hero.As school starts each year, many young Queensland students enter an unknown world for the first time. It is important that these young Queenslanders know and practise road safety skills.
The department developed a Back-to-School road safety kit for all 2009 Queensland Prep, Year One and Year Two students. The objective of the kit was to help parents and teachers develop vital road safety skills in young students. The kits feature a Road Safe Hero who shares tips about what to do in different road situations. If students can be as cool as the Road Safe Hero, they will have a fun, exciting and safe school life.
Download elements of the kits below, including colouring-in pages and a moving screensaver.

Making road safety a priority for all Queensland children is essential to ensure a happy and safe school life for many years to come. Losing a life on the roads is a terrible occasion in itself, but losing a child’s life is unthinkable.
Safeguard your children’s future by educating, practising and incorporating road safety behaviours in everyday life.
