Rider survivor

An increasing number of fatalities and serious injuries result from crashes involving motorbike riders. The Department of Transport and Main Roads is working with other government agencies and industry groups to draw attention to motorbike safety. The rider survivor program is a key initiative of these efforts.

Rider survivor is a 'grass roots' motorbike safety awareness program developed in response to the increasing amount of motorbike fatalities and serious injuries in Queensland. Predominantly carried out in south east Queensland, rider survivor events engage the riding community and inform motorbike riders about safer riding techniques through displays, demonstrations, and discussion. Principal supporters of the program include the Queensland Police Service, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Motorcycle Riders Association of Queensland.
