Cycling in Queensland
Riding a bike is a fun, economical, environmentally-friendly and healthy way to get around. This site provides information for anyone who is thinking about bike riding, buying a bike, teaching a child how to ride or getting better cycling facilities in their local area.
Queensland values cycling for the important contribution it makes to the development of a sustainable and effective transport system. Cycling is not just a transport issue—it has significant benefits for health, the environment and tourism, as well as helping to connect communities.

The bike user guide contains extensive bicycle-related information. You can find bike safety information in the safety area and be sure to check out the news and events area for the latest in cycling events. We hope you enjoy this site and welcome your feedback at cycles@transport.qld.gov.au.
Main Roads cycling projects
The Department of Main Roads will positively provide for cyclists in road-upgrading projects on priority cycle routes. For more information on current and future cycling projects which will incorporate cycling facilities, please see the Department of Main Roads cycling projects website.
