Driver Reviver

About Driver Reviver?

Driver Reviver is a community-based road safety initiative of Queensland Transport and the Queensland Police Service and is operated by around 1600 volunteers.  Driver Reviver sites play an important role in helping motorists to survive long journeys and arrive at their destinations.  Helping to reduce the road toll and promoting safer driving habits amongst long distance drivers are important goals of the Driver Reviver program.

The program began in Queensland in 1990 and approximately 250 000 people annually visit one of 35 sites in Queensland.  Motorists are encouraged to 'STOP REVIVE SURVIVE' at rest stops throughout the state and enjoy complimentary tea or coffee and a snack thanks to the program's national sponsor, Bushells Tea.  The program operates during school holidays and public holiday periods.

Driver Reviver volunteers

Queensland Transport strongly values the important work Driver Reviver volunteers do for the travelling public. If you feel that you would like to contribute some of your time to this great road safety program please contact your local road safety officer who will be able to advise you of sites within your area who are looking for more volunteers.

The Driver Reviver proposed operating dates 2008 (PDF**, 25KB) table provides a complete list of the operating dates for the year.
