Rider survivor
An increasing number of fatalities and serious injuries result from crashes involving motorbike riders. Queensland Transport is working with other government agencies and industry groups to draw attention to motorbike safety. The rider survivor program is a key initiative of these efforts.
Rider survivor is a 'grass roots' motorbike safety awareness program developed in response to the increasing incidence of motorbike fatalities and serious injuries in Queensland. Predominantly carried out in south east Queensland, rider survivor events engage the riding community and inform motorbike riders about safer riding techniques through displays, demonstrations, and discussion. Principal supporters of the program include police, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, the Queensland Ambulance Service, and the Motorcycle Riders Association of Queensland.
