Bruce Highway (Bowen-Ayr), Inkerman overtaking lane and safety improvement projects

Safety on the Bruce Highway at Inkerman will be improved through the installation of new northbound overtaking opportunity and upgrades to the Mount Inkerman Road intersection.

Works will include a new northbound overtaking lane between Fredericksfield Road and Homestead Road and new dedicated turning lanes at the Mount Inkerman Road intersection.

The Bruce Highway pavement will be widened (between Fredericksfield Road and Homestead Road) to accommodate the new northbound overtaking lane. The new overtaking lane will complement an existing, southbound overtaking lane and will reduce unsafe overtaking manoeuvres in this area.
