Centenary Motorway (Yamanto – Ellen Grove) and Springfield Greenbank Arterial exit ramp, upgrade intersection

The department is working with Ipswich City Council to upgrade the Centenary Motorway exit ramp (Exit 32), and the Main Street and Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road intersection, to manage congestion and improve safety at the exit ramp.

The upgrade will replace the existing Centenary Motorway exit ramp with 2 through lanes and 2 left-turning lanes on the approach to the roundabout on Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road. Adding more lane options on the exit ramp will manage congestion and improve traffic flow and safety.

At the intersection, the existing right-turning movement will be removed to:

  • optimise performance of the signalised intersection
  • improve reliability in travel times
  • enhance safety for all road users.

Alternative routes are available, including using the motorway exits 31 or 33.

The council will be constructing the exit ramp upgrade works and replacing the existing roundabout at Main Street/Springfield Greenbank Arterial/Exit 32 with a signalised intersection.
